People gathered on May 31, 2020 on the green in Shelton, CT to protest racism and the killing of George Floyd. They took a knee in silence for 9 minutes. Breon Sanders spoke of his experiences of racism in Shelton. Police Chief Shawn Sequeira, Mayor Mark Lauretti and Greg Johnson of the NAACP were there to show support.

Thousands gathered in Waterbury CT on May 31, 2020 to protest the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police and to protest the racism experienced in Connecticut and throughout the U.S.

Demanding Rent Relief during and after Covid 19

Many people are in danger of losing their homes and apartments while they can't work due to Covid 19. CT Students for a Dream organized a #CancelTheRent car caravan on May 30, 2020 in Danbury to press Governor Lamont and state legislators to proactively stop that from happening. Connecticut protests lack of federal action on guns​

In the wake of three mass shootings, hundreds of us gathered at the Connecticut State Capitol to implore federal legislators to meet this national emergency of gun violence.

Hundreds of people went to Washington DC to support Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as she gave testimony against the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. After holding a silent vigil in the Hart Senate office building, they marched to the Capitol and then to the Supreme Court, where dozens were arrested in a peaceful civil disobedience. Linda Sarsour and the Womens March and Center for Popular Democracy organized the march.

​Road to Change finishes tour in Newtown

The March for Our Lives: Road to Change ended its voter registration tour across the US in Newtown, CT. Parkland students were joined on the stage by youth from Newtown, Hartford, New York, Chicago, Milwaukee to tell how they will work for political change.
